With the shape complexity and heat distortion requirements of the Aerospace industry, Ferry Capitain developed and patented several materials that show exceptionally low thermal expansion coefficients at different temperatures.  These materials behave very well as mono-block cast tools for the manufacturing of precision aeronautical parts.

These special tools are generally made within two categories.  Super Plastic Forming Tooling / Hot Forming Tools and Heated Trays are mould tooling for composite applications (INVAR tooling) with low coefficient of expansion at 200°C. Other moulding tools are for thermoplastic applications with low coefficient of expansion at 400°C.  Ferry Capitain develops dedicated grades according to the applications and customer requirements.
